Kendra Van Leeuwen - June 20, 2013

Kendra Van Leeuwen is a Grade 9 student at St. John’s Collegiate, dedicated to a very long list of sports. Aside from being an excellent athlete for all of her teams, she manages to excel at academics as well.
Although keeping up a 96% average in her first of high school, Van Leeuwen is also dedicated to a list of six sports in and out of school.
It may seem impossible, but this 14 year-old is committed to CYO basketball, while still giving back by volunteering for younger teams. She also plays volleyball, cross-country, badminton, tennis, and is on the track and field team at St. John’s.
Within school, Van Leeuwen is also involved with the campus ministry, and the intermediate band, playing clarinet.
In her career of playing basketball, Van Leeuwen has captured 5 medals from the Ontario Basketball Association: 3 gold and 2 silver medals. She was a member of Team Ontario for basketball in last summer’s season.
She was also on the BCSSAA championship team for senior girls basketball, and was a BCSSAA champion for double tennis.
In her future, Van Leeuwen is looking to make a Canadian National Team and one day be an educator. With her dedication and leadership skills, she is determined to meet her goals.
Congratulations and good luck Kendra!
