Adam Hie - December 20, 2001
This week's TCO "Athlete of the Week" is Adam Hie a grade 12 student from Pauline Johnson and a member of Team Elite Martial Arts. Adam currently has a mixed martial arts record of 51 wins, no draws, 5 losses and is coached by Sensei Shane Mountney. Adam is a talented 17 year-old who has already won numerous titles over the past few years including the 1999 Ontario Provincial Championship. During 2000 Adam won the Pan-Am individual gold medal and team silver medal titles, the South Western Ontario Regional title, the Ontario Provincials, the U.S. Nationals, the Canadian Nationals, the North American title, and the Professional Karate Commission overall fighting championship.
In 2001 he won the South Western Ontario Regional title, the Ontario Provincials, the Canadian Nationals, and the Canadian Sport jiu-jitsu Championships. Adam also played football at Pauline Johnson from 1999 to 2001 and wrestled for P.J. and was the 1998 City Championship bronze medallist.
