Alison Anderson - January 21, 2010
Alison Anderson is a twelve year old grade 7 student from Lansdowne Costain School who has been involved in soccer for 7 years, mountain biking for 2 years, wrestling for 1 year, volleyball for 3 years, track and field for 3 years and cross country for 1 year.
Alison participated in the 2009 Paris to Ancaster 35km bike race winning 1st place in the girls 12 to 15 years category. She won the 2009 Best Throw award for wrestling at her school, and she won two 1st place, two 2nd place and two 3rd place ribbons in track events in the last three years.
She has been a class rep for two years and is a member of her school’s outreach and dance committee.
Alison volunteered at the Special Olympics held at Assumption College in the summer of 2009, assisting the leaders by organizing the events and helping the participants. She also participated in the 2009 Relay For Life event held in Burford.
Alison is a dedicated and hardworking student who currently has an 87% average and consistently maintains high marks.
She hopes to enroll in the Laurier Program at B.C.I and in the future continue her education at university and become a teacher .
Alison enjoys staying active and being part of a team, so she wants to participate in as many sports as she can and improve her current skills.
