Alison Worosz - January 31, 2002
The Tournament Capital of Ontario "Athlete of the Week" is Alison Worosz an 18 year-old OAC student from North Park Collegiate who is a member of the senior girls basketball, soccer and volleyball teams. Alison was awarded the 2001 Senior Female Athlete of the Year and also won the defensive award for basketball in 2000/2001. She won the MVP award for high school soccer in 2001 and the MVP for Inter-City rep soccer in 1999 and 2000.
Alison has been involved with Briers basketball and the Brantford Youth soccer league since the age of 4 and is currently a member of the Brantford Blazers Open Women's soccer team, who compete in the Ontario Women's Soccer League. She also helps local youth at the North Park basketball camp and last summer worked at the Kumon School, a math and reading centre for kids.
Alison is an honour roll student with an overall average last year of 88%. She plans to attend university in the fall to study kinesiology and her future career goal is to become a teacher.
