Chad Muise - February 12, 2009
Chad Muise is a sixteen-year-old grade 11 student from North Park Collegiate who has been actively involved in baseball, basketball, badminton and football.
He participated in house league t-ball from 1996 to 1999 and has been a member of the Brantford Red Sox rep. team since 1999, currently in his second year as a midget. Chad is a pitcher, outfielder, 1st baseman, and recently has done some catching. He played for the Inter-County team in 2005, which won the Pee Wee All-Star tournament. His team won the 2005 OBA “AA” Championships and the 2006 OBA “AAA” Championships. Chad was the MVP for the 2003 Mosquito Red Sox team and was the Rookie of the Year for the Midget Red Sox team in 2008. He has also played baseball for North Park since 2007.
Chad has been an active member of CYO basketball house league since 1997 and a member of a CYO rep team since 1999. He received the 2002 Coaches Award for Atom “AAA” and in 2006 was awarded the Father Phil Cook Award and the 2008 Team Co-MVP award. In 2007 Chad attended the Ontario Midget Development Program (MDP) Elite Basketball Provincial Training Camp.
Chad was a member of the North Park junior basketball from 2006 to 2008 where he helped his team win the 2007 CWOSSA Basketball Championships and was chosen a Co-MVP in 2008. He is currently a member of his school’s senior basketball team.
Chad coached the Cedarland Public School senior girls basketball team to the city championships last year, and is currently an assistant coach for the CYO Major Atom “AAA” boys basketball team.
He has been playing badminton since 2003; he won the 2008 Brant County Singles Badminton Championships and helped the Cedarland Public School coach with player training in 2007.
Chad was a member of the North Park junior football team from 2006 to 2008 and is currently a member of his school’s senior football team.
He received the Phys Ed and Principals awards at Cedarland in 2006 and North Park’s Junior Male Athlete of the year in 2008.
Chad volunteers at baseball tournaments and helps at swim meets. He is a dedicated and hardworking student who achieved a 79% average at mid term. In the future he hopes to go into broadcasting on television or radio and continue his involvement in sports at the highest level possible.
