Chelsea Murray -June 10, 2010
Chelsea Murray is a twelve-year-old grade 6 student at St. Gabriel’s Catholic School who has been involved in a number of sports including basketball, soccer, flag football, volleyball, hockey, golf and dance.
She was a member of the Brantford AAA CYO Falcons for one year and helped her team finish 1st at the 2010 Provincial Championships making her team the number one team in Ontario out of 62 teams.
Lacey plays flag football in a youth league and contributed to the success of her team winning the 2009 Championship. She won the furthest pass and kick in the punt pass and kick competition.
Lacey also plays soccer for the Hamilton Under 12 developmental team and has been involved with the Brantford City Rep Soccer for three years.
She has danced competitively for 9 years winning numerous 1st, 2nd and 3rd place awards. She finished 4th at the 2005 Dance Masters of America, she represented Canada at the Junior National tap team last November in Germany and was one of the youngest dancers to compete in the World tap dance competition placing 5th overall.
Lacey volunteers at her great grandmother’s retirement home and especially enjoys when you can sign and dance at birthday parties.
She is a hard working and dedicated student who maintains an A average and hopes to one day play professional soccer or basketball.
