Connie Colwell - January 23rd, 2001
This week's TCO "Athlete of the Week" is Connie Colwell, she is a grade 9 student who attends North Park Collegiate, is a member of the Brantford Figure Skating Club, is 14 years old and is trained by her mother and coach Penny. Connie won a silver medal in the Novice division in 1998, has competed at the Nationals for the last 4 years and won at the junior and senior Divisional Western Titles in Canada, for the last 2 years. She has also competed internationally at the North American Challenge in 1999 finishing in 3rd place. Connie trains for at least two hours of on-ice training six days a week and still finds time to participate in karate, ballet and dance and is also an active swimmer. Her dream is to represent Canada in the 2006 Olympic Games.
