Daryl Moore - November 1, 2001
This week's TCO "Athlete of the Week" is Daryl Moore an 18 year-old, OAC student at North Park Collegiate and team captain of the Brant County Golden Eagles Jr. B Hockey team for the past 3 years. Last season Daryl was named MVP of the Golden Eagles was chosen the Sportsman of the Year for the Golden Eagles and also played in the Jr. B all-star game. He was 9th for scoring in the league with 36 goals and 31 assists in 47 games. During the 1999/2000 season he was named Rookie of the Year with 21 goals and 20 assists in 43 games and was the winner of the fastest skater award at the Jr. B Showcase weekend. Daryl also plays Inline Hockey and has been the captain of the Jr. B
Bandits for the last 2 seasons and won the league scoring championship for both seasons. He was named the 1999 World Amateur Athlete of the Year In-line Hockey in Las Vegas, captained Team Ontario to three straight World Youth Championships at the Global In-Line Hockey Championships and won the Major Jr. A roller hockey all-star game MVP, with 5 goals and 4 assists. Daryl is looking forward to attending University next year and has already been scouted by several U.S. schools.
