Hanna Smids - August 19, 2010
Hanna Smids is a ten year old grade 5 student who attends St. Patrick School and is actively involved in synchro swimming. She has been a member of the Brant Synchro Club for the past 4 years.
Hanna has received several awards for syncro swimming including the 2009 Sportsmanship award, the 2010 Figure award, the 2010 Swimmer of the Year award, and the Perfect Attendance award for the past two years.
This year she had the opportunity to perform a solo in synchro and loved doing it. She believes if you start something you need to give 110% at all times.
Hanna has also achieved level 10 in swimming and her goal is to get her life guard certificate. She is a member of her school’s track and field team and in 2009 she was honored to be nominated for the Great Kids of Brantford.
She enjoys volunteering and is a student helper for the kindergarten class at her school and helps her mother at the bibles for mission thrift store. Hanna loves to be around little children and just finished her babysitting course.
She also loves to take pictures and enters them in the Simcoe and Paris fairs and has won many ribbons. She also enjoys biking, camping and spending time with her friends.
Hanna has received many awards over the years at school including the Principal’s award every year, the Student of the Month for excellence in literacy, two years in a row and she was chosen to participate in the junior speech competition in 2009 and 2010.
Hanna is a dedicated and hardworking student you maintains an A+ average. Her goals for the future are to keep getting great marks at school and one day become a veterinarian.
