Hilary Elliott - January 22, 2009
Hilary Elliott is a sixteen-year-old grade 12 student from North Park Collegiate who has been actively involved in soccer for 12 years, basketball for 7 years, volleyball for 4 years, and cross-country, track and field, and swimming for 3 years.
She played basketball with CYO and Briers, house league soccer with Brantford Youth Soccer and the Ancaster Youth Soccer Club and rep with Brantford Intercity Soccer. She played volleyball for the Brantford Youth Volleyball Club and is currently a member of the North Park basketball, volleyball, soccer, swimming, cross-country and track and field teams.
Hilary has received several individual and team awards over the years including the 2005 BCSAA midget basketball championships MVP, the 2006 junior basketball MVP, the 2008 BCSAA senior basketball finalists, her team placed 3rd at the 2008 KSA tournament held in Flordia, her Briers basketball Division 1 team finished 4th in 2008 and her CYO team won the Division 1 championships in 2004.
She helped her high school volleyball team win the midget, junior and senior BCSSA Championships from 2006 to 2008 and was the 2007 Most Improved player for the Brant Tornado volleyball team. She was the 2007 MVP in soccer and won the 2005 Brantford Soccer Players Choice award. She also helped her school’s cross-country team win the midget and junior BCSAA team championships in 2005 and 2006.
In 2006 Hilary was 1st in the triple jump at BCSSA and 5th at CWOSSA; in 2007 she placed 1st in the triple jump and long jump at BCSSA, and in 2008 she was 1st in the shot put at BCSSA.
In 2007 she finished 1st at CWOSSA in the 50m-breast stroke and in 2008 she was 8th at OFSAA in the 50m-breast stroke. Her team was the District 10 Champions, they finished 2nd at CWOSSA and she was chosen the team MVP.
Hilary volunteers at St. Mark’s Church and was a member of the North Park band in grades 9 and 10.
She is a dedicated and hardworking student who achieved a 96% average at mid terms and plans to continue her education by attending university next year studying math or science and stay involved in sports.
