Jennifer Bates - February 6th, 2001
This week's TCO "Athlete of the Week" is Jennifer Bates a grade 9 student at North Park Collegiate who participates in basketball and soccer. She is a member of the North Park Midget girls basketball team and was recently chosen All Star at a Mohawk College tournament. Jen plays select Briers basketball and recreational soccer and is interested in participating in track and field in the 100m, 200m and the relay. She was chosen the Female Athlete of the Year in 1999-2000 for overall school sports, at Greenbrier School. In 1997 she was a member of the Brantford Youth Soccer League Girls under 12 Championship team. Jen enjoys giving back to the community and found time this year to volunteer for Participation House.
