Jenny Howell - January 8, 2009
Jenny Howell is a fifteen-year-old grade 10 student from North Park Collegiate who has been actively involved in basketball, soccer and baseball for 5 years; skating and hockey for 6 years; volleyball and track and field since grade 6, and tennis and cross country since grade 9.
She played basketball, volleyball, track and field, hockey, and baseball in grade 9 and was a member of the Brier’s rep basketball team. During the summer following grade 9 she traveled to San Franciso California to participate in the International Children’s Games for volleyball.
This year she has been involved in cross-country, tennis, basketball, volleyball, and hockey and plays rep volleyball for the OVA Tornados and CYO rep basketball. She also enjoys recreational swimming and skiing.
In grade 8 Jenny received the Track and Field award and was the Athlete of the Year. In grade 9 she received the North Park Junior Athlete of the Year award, the midget girls volleyball Most Valuable Player award, and she was the
BCSSAA Junior Mixed Double Tennis Champion in grade 10.
Jenny is a dedicated and hardworking honor role student who has an 80% average. She is an active member of OSAID, Student Voice, the Trojan Athletic Committee and volunteers at the Paris Fair and the St George United Church. She plans to continue her education at university and play varsity sports.
