Jillian Page - June 24, 2010
Jillian Page is a thirteen-year-old grade 7 student from Greenbrier Public School who is actively involved in curling, swimming, baseball, and track and field.
She has been a member of the Brant Curling Club for six years playing in the junior little rocks, senior little rocks and bantams. She has been involved with the Red Cross swimming program from 2002 to 2009 and obtained her Level 10 in 2009. She has been active in the Brantford Minor Baseball Association for six years.
Jillian also participates in baseball, track & field, basketball, and cross country for her school and has been a member of the Greenbrier choir from 2007 to 2010.
She has received several awards over the years including a 2nd place at the Brant Curling Club’s Bantam Championships and several 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishes in track and field events and cross country races. Her most recent awards include 3rd place finishes in both the 400-metre and triple jump events at the regional meet earlier this month.
This summer Jillian will be attending the Trillium Curling Camp in Guelph, which is for thirteen to nineteen year olds who want the best curling training in Ontario and Canada. She hopes the camp will help her when she competes in future Ontario Curling Association competitions. She will also be attending a golf camp.
In grade 8, Jillian wants to try out for her school’s badminton, volleyball and soccer teams. She has also been playing piano since she was four and plans to continue her lessons next year; she is currently at a grade 6 level.
Jillian is a dedicated and hard working student who maintains good grades and participates in everything with a smile on her face. In the future, she hopes to continue her education at a university or college and remain involved in sports.
Congratulations Jillian and good luck.
