Josey Josey - January 10, 2002
The Tournament Capital of Ontario "Athlete of the Week" is Luanne Josey a 17 year-old grade 11 student from Burford District High School and a member of the Brantford Ice Cats Midget A Hockey team. Luanne has been playing hockey for the past eight years and last year won the "Marlese Hoffman" award in Recognition of a Players Dedication and Love of the Game, and this season has already scored two hat tricks.
Luanne also enjoys playing high school basketball and was named the Most Skilled Player of the 2000/2001 season, and won a MVP award in soccer for the 2000/2001 season. Luanne was a member of the Brantford Track and Field Club and was awarded the most outstanding junior girl in 1995 and the outstanding intermediate girl in 1996. She also placed first and second in her age group in the Boston to Brantford Classic Run.
Luanne's future goals are to play on the Women's National Hockey team and to pursue a career in the RCMP.
