Julie Woods - November 1, 2007
Julie Woods is a sixteen-year-old grade 11 student from Paris District High School who is actively involved in several sports including hockey, soccer, track and field and basketball. She has been playing hockey for 11 years; soccer for 8 years; track and field for 6 years, and basketball for 6 years.
Julie is a member of the Midget Girls BB hockey team in Cambridge; she plays on the BICS under 16 Premier Girls Soccer team, and is a member of her school’s hockey, basketball, track and field and soccer teams.
Julie contributed to the success of her team winning the 2005/06 CWOSSA Girls Hockey Championships and at the 2006/07 CWOSSA Girls Hockey Championships they were finalists.
She received the 2006/07 Midget Girls Basketball Coaches award; she helped her high school team win the 2005/06 Midget Girls Track and Field Championships; and her soccer team won the 2006 Under 18 Premier Soccer Cup and they were finalists at the 2007 Under 16 Premier Soccer Championships.
Julie was captain of the rep soccer team that won the league championships in the 2007 Under 16 Premier division, and helped her team win the 2007 Fair Play Award Under 16 Premier Soccer Championships.
She is involved with the Ontario Students Against Impaired Driving and is an honor role student who achieved a 90% average last year.
Julie plans to attend the University of Alberta to further her education in hopes of becoming a special educational needs teacher.
