Kailey Dzikowski - January 6, 2005
Kailey Dzikowski enjoys playing her favourite sport basketball and looks forward to the time she spends on the court with other team-mates honing her skills.
Kailey won the junior girls basketball Athlete of the Year award in both grade nine and ten at Assumption College, and was captain of her team both years. She is currently captain of the senior girls basketball team.
This 16 years old and has been playing basketball for nine years now and has been involved with several organizations including her school teams and summer clinics. She played with Brantford's Catholic Youth Organization's rep team for eight years and has participated in the Midget and Junior Development Programs at York University for the past three summers.
Kailey attributes her constant improvement in the game to the guidance of her coach and friend, Dennis Kings. 'He knows the game so well and loves to teach it. He helps me correct my mistakes, constantly making me a better player – I have learned a lot from Mr. Kings' Kailey said.
Dina Antanis is Kaileys inspiration, and has had a huge impact on the way she sees the game and her attitude towards basketball. 'The way she plays and her work ethic is unbelievable,' says Kailey.
Kailey managed to complete over 40 hours of volunteer work last year, and is planning to use the experience to explore her options in the future. Her goals include attending university to study health sciences, and playing varsity basketball.
Congratulations Kailey, and good luck! |
