Kathryn Lunn - November 27, 2008
Kathryn Lunn is a fourteen-year-old grade 9 student from Pauline Johnson Collegiate who has been actively involved in several sports including softball for 5 years playing both rep and house league and figure skating. She also participated in school basketball, track and field, volleyball, and badminton.
Kathryn plays for the Brantford Bobcats Bantam Girls All Star Fastpitch team. Her team went undefeated in the Provincial Qualifiers and Grand Championships making them the 2008 Novice II Ontario Champions; they won a silver medal at the Eastern Canadian Championship held in PEI. Her team also went undefeated in the USFA Qualifier earning them a berth to the World Series in Florida in 2009. She pitches for her team as well as playing outfield. This year Kathryn won several game MVP awards and was named Team MVP at the Eastern Canadian Championships.
Kathryn also participates in track and field and at this year’s school meet she finished 1st in 100m, 200m, triple jump and long jump. At the regional meet she placed 1st in triple jump and 4 x 100 relay, and 2nd in the 100m and 200m races.
She is an active member of the Pauline Johnson junior basketball team and this year won the 2008 PJ Heart and Hustle award at the PJ Tournament. She was a member of the 2007/08 Athletics Council at Banbury Heights public school and volunteered for the Economeals program.
Kathryn is a dedicated and hardworking student who maintains good marks and in the future hopes to attend university and play on a varsity fast pitch team.
