Kayla Buckley - March 28, 2002
The Tournament Capital of Ontario "Athlete of the Week" is Kayla Buckley a grade 6 student from F.C. Bodley public school who is an assistant captain on the Brantford Ice Cats Atom B hockey team. She has enjoyed playing hockey since she was 4 years old, plays both house league and rep. hockey, her positions are defence and centre, and this season her team placed second at two tournaments. Kayla plays baseball and this year will try out for the select squirt division. She also played roller hockey with the Rolling Thunder tyke division where she won the "most sportsman like award" in 1999.
Kayla is a member of her school's chess team, captain of her basketball team, member of the cross country, and soccer teams. Kayla also helps the kindergarten class at lunch, is a library helper, a crossing guard and turns 12 years old today.
