Athlete of the Week - 2002


    Keaton Turkiewicz - December 19, 2002


    The Tournament Capital of Ontario "Athlete of the Week" is Keaton Turkiewicz a 14 year-old grade 9 student from St. John's College who participants and excels in hockey. Keaton plays for the Junior Canadians Bantam AAA team in the Greater Toronto hockey league, currently ranked #1 in Ontario and won the Big Nickel Bantam AAA tournament in Sudbury.

    He was a member of the 2001 Jr. Flyers Spring All-Star team that won the Spring All-Star tournament in Edmonton and was a member of the 2000 Toronto Aeros Spring All-Star team that won the Spring All-Star tournament in Calgary. Keaton has won numerous MVP awards throughout his hockey career.

    Keaton won the 2002 Sr. Boys City overall track & field award and was a member of the St. John's Jr. Boys volleyball City Champions. He also participates in basketball, golf, wakeboarding and snowboarding.

    He is strong academically and won the Sr. Boys academic award at St. Teresa's school in 2002 and currently has an 85% average at St. John's College.

    Keaton's goal is to play Jr. A hockey and in the future obtain an NCAA hockey scholarship.
