Kyle Giancola - December 22, 2005
Kyle Giancola is a grade 9 student at Brantford Collegiate Institute (BCI) who has a talent for a variety of sports including baseball, football, basketball, soccer, badminton, hockey and golf.
Kyle has been involved in sports for several years and played at the competitive level in most of them. He has been a member of several championship teams and received numerous awards for his contributions. He was the Athlete of the Year at Coronation School in grade 8, and helped his baseball team win their house league championships in 2004. He was thrilled to receive an MVP award for his outstanding play.
During the summer Kyle attended the McMaster football camp and started playing his second favorite sport. This fall he began his football career at BCI with the Colts junior football program starting as a linebacker. Although Kyle was a very strong defensive player he was often utilized as an iron man, playing running back and on both sets of special teams. He also plays for his school's basketball and hockey teams and is looking forward to trying out for track and field.
Kyle is an excellent athlete especially in his most promising sport baseball, and is currently a pitcher for the Brantford AAA major Bantam team. In his spare time Kyle helps officiate hockey games and also helps with football.
Sports is not the only thing that this 14 year old athlete has a knack for; he is also a highly motivated and hard working student who has an 85% average and is involved in the Laurier University program offered at BCI. After graduating from high school, Kyle plans to continue his education by going to university, staying active in sports, playing baseball at the elite level and being successful in life.
Kyle's favorite sports hero is Terrell Davis because he inspires Kyle to play hard and give 110% all the time, whether it's in the classroom or on the field.
Congratulations Kyle and good luck! |
