Laura McKerrall - December 5th, 2000
This week's "Athlete of the Week" is Laura McKerrall an 18 year old OAC student at Pauline Johnson Collegiate. Laura is an exceptional Badminton player who has competed in all levels of competition. Since 1994 Provincially she has won 12 gold, 8 silver and 3 bronze and at the National level she has achieved 3 gold since 1998. In 1997 Laura won the Triple Crown gold in under 16 ladies singles, doubles and mixed doubles. Most recently she represented Canada at the World Jr. Badminton Championships in China. Laura has been an honor student since grade 8, is a dedicated volunteer with many groups and has also participated in soccer, basketball, curling, figure skating to name a few. What an outstanding career, much success in the future Laura. |
