Lisa Minutillo - December 2, 2004
Lisa Minutillo has excelled in her favourite sport basketball since she was seven years old and this season has been no exception for this grade eight student attending Braemar House School.
She has enjoyed playing on the Catholic Youth Organization's (CYO) rep team for five years, and has been part of their house league for six years. Lisa also loves to play soccer and has been competing for seven years with Brantford Youth Soccer.
Always up for new challenges, she tried horseback riding four years ago and has been riding with the Cloverhill Stables ever since. Lisa is also involved in school sports, participating in cross country, track and field, soccer, volleyball, and basketball teams.
She was nominated by her school to attend the Ontario Educational Leadership Council's athletic camp this past summer; this program demands athletic leadership in school and community. Lisa volunteers time at school referring soccer tournaments, enjoys helping coach her younger sister's soccer team involved for the past two summers, and participated in the Brantford Classic Run for the last four years.
Lisa maintains a solid 90 per cent average with strengths in all subjects and was proud to represent her school at the Brantford Legion public speaking contest where she placed second. Lisa will be attending North Park Collegiate next year and is looking forward to the academic and athletic challenges of high school and one day would like to become a Physiotherapist.
