Lorraine Tu - February 8, 2007
Lorraine Tu is a fourteen-year-old grade 9 student from St. John’s College who excels in Taekwondo and has been involved in the sport for the past 4 years. She was also a member of the Notre Dame Catholic School girl’s volleyball team for two years.
Lorraine has achieved numerous awards in the sport of Taekwondo including a gold medal in the 2006 Junior Provincial #1 Sparring, she won silver at the 2006 Junior Provincial #2 Sparring, she placed 4 th at the 2006 Junior Nationals Sparring, she won gold at the 2006 New York Open in Patterns and Sparring, and won gold at the Montreal Dando Cup in Sparring.
Lorraine is a member of the Ontario Sparring Team and represented Canada at the 2006 World Poomse Championships held in Seoul Korea, participating in the Female Synchronized division, with her older sister Juliana and finished in the Top Ten.
She volunteers at her gym helping to coach students preparing for competitions and occasionally helps the Master teach classes. She is a dedicated and hardworking student who maintains an 85% average. She plans to continue her education at University and hopes to attend the 2012 Olympics representing Canada along with her older sister Juliana.
