Lyndsey Laughlin - May 16, 2002
The Tournament Capital of Ontario "Athlete of the Week" is Lyndsey Laughlin a grade 7 student from Ryerson Middle School who participates in several different sports. Lyndsey received the 2001 Female Athlete of the Year award in her graduating year from Agnes Hodge School. Last spring she placed 1st in the 100 meter and 800 meter track & field events and 3rd in the 200 meter event. Lyndsey also competed at the Brant County Regionals where she placed 4th in the 100 meter event and helped her team win the soccer Championships.
Since attending Ryerson this year Lyndsey helped her team win both the soccer and baseball championships, played on the school's basketball team and was selected to play on the Brantford Ice Cats Bantam A girls hockey team.
Lyndsey is an excellent student who has an 82% average and was selected to take part in the Gousse Math Competition this spring. She also enjoys art and roller blading.
