Matt Donald - September 5, 2002
The Tournament Capital of Ontario "Athlete of the Week" is Matt Donald a 15-year-old, grade 11 student from Brantford Collegiate Institute who participates in Trap and Skeet Competitions and trains at the Waterford Gun Club.
Matt has been competing for the past two years in Clay Target Black Powder Muzzle- loading events and last year placed 3rd in the 2001 Junior Novice Championships held in Michigan.
This summer Matt became the first Canadian to win a gold medal at the Michigan State Muzzle-loading Championships, in the 15 and under category,
with a one-time shoot and the best out of 20 birds win. When Matt turns 16 next year he will then have to compete in the adult division.
Matt plays both football and rugby at school and in March 2003 will be part of the B.C.I. team that travels to Great Britain on the Rugby Tour.
