Matt Weaver - January 13, 2005
Matt Weaver is a fifteen-year-old student attending Paris District High School who participates in a variety of sports but his favourite is basketball.
Matt plays on a CYO basketball rep team and is a member of his high school's team. He also participates on his school's volleyball and cross-country teams and has won awards for his outstanding contributions.
Matt recently helped his volleyball team win first place at CWOSSA, and in 2004 he participated on his school's cross-country team at OFFSA. Last summer Matt played on a hardball team and helped them win a Provincial Championships; his position is left field.
This busy athlete enjoys yet another sport hockey, and has been playing for the past two years winning the Southern Counties Championships in back-to-back seasons 2002/03, and 2003/04.
Matt helps his community by volunteering as a hockey referee in the winter and umpires baseball in the summer. This dedicated student has maintained an 85 per cent average for the past two years, and intends on keeping his marks high so that one day he can further his education by attending university.
