Mike Cruz -May 13, 2010
Mike Cruz is a seventeen-year-old grade 12 student from St. John’s College who has been involved in a variety of sports over the years and excels at football and rugby.
He has been a member of the St. John’s College rugby team for 3 years and the Brantford Harlequins rugby team for two years. He has been playing football for 8 years and is a stand out in the sport.
Mike has played high school football for three years and has been a member of the Brantford Bison’s ever since he was eligible to play. He was also a member of Team Canada football, a team who traveled to Hawaii for a major tournament.
During Mike’s time spent with Team Canada Football he was their youngest player on the team as well as securing a starting position. He won the St. John’s Eagle Warrior award in football and the St. John’s Forwards MVP for rugby, both in 2008.
Over the years Mike has received other MVP awards and has been a contributing factor in winning championships with several rugby and football teams.
Mike transferred from St. John’s College to Assumption College for a semester before returning back to St. John’s, resulting in him being ineligible to play football at ACS, as well as being ineligible to play rugby for SJC this year.
He is a hard working student who maintains good grades and plans to further his education at University while studying Kinesiology and playing football at the highest level possible.
