Rachel Cleary is a sixteen year old grade 11 student from St. John’s College who is actively involved in a variety of sports including soccer, volleyball and basketball.
She has played CYO basketball since she was five years old and won the OBA’s twice; the first time was at the age of 8 and again last year when she played for Briers Basketball.
Rachel has also played Timbits soccer and eventually switched to BICS rep soccer. She played 4 years with BICS, 1 year for Assumption College and 1 year for St. John’s College.
In Rachel’s first year at Assumption College she played on the junior girls basketball team and won an MVP award. She also won an MVP for volleyball and was the Junior Athlete of the Year at Assumption.
In grade 10 she switched to St. John’s College and in grade 11 Rachel was a member of the undefeated Green Eagles team who captured the BCSSAA, CWOSSA, and OFSAA titles in senior girl’s basketball.
Rachel is a hard working student who maintains an 80% average and plans to continue her education at university and hopefully play university basketball, while majoring in history.
Congratulations Rachel and good luck.
