Rachel Roorda - February 1, 2007
Rachel Roorda is a sixteen-year-old grade 11 student from Paris District High School (PDHS) who participates in several sports including volleyball, basketball, baseball and track and field.
She has been actively involved in baseball for 10 years, track and field for 8 years, and both volleyball and basketball for 5 years. She is a member of the Ontario Volleyball Association and played on a St. George baseball team for 4 years.
Rachel has achieved several awards over the years including the Athletic Award in grade 8, the 2004/05 Track & Field Most Outstanding Midget Girls award, the 2005/06 Track & Field Track Warriors award and the 2005/06 Volleyball Junior Girls Coach’s award. She was a member of the PDHS Midget and Junior Girls Volleyball teams that won the BCCSA championships.
She is actively involved in her community and enjoys volunteering for the Pathway Church, she helps at basketball camps, volunteers at the annual St. George Food Drive and the St. George Apple Harvest.
She is a dedicated and hard working student who was on the PDHS honor role in grades 9 and 10 and currently maintains an 85% average.
Rachel hopes to obtain a scholarship, continue her education at University, and play on a varsity volleyball team.
