Samantha Buck - October 22, 2009
Samantha Buck is a sixteen-year-old grade 11 student who attends Pauline Johnson Collegiate Vocational School and is actively involved in basketball, baseball, volleyball and rugby.
She has been involved in basketball since she was 8 years old, baseball and volleyball since she was 12, and started playing rugby last year. She played rep basketball and volleyball and has been an active member of various sport teams throughout elementary school and high school.
Samantha won the MVP for basketball at PJ in 2008/09 and the Junior Female Athlete of the Year in 2008/09.
She has been involved in a variety of school activities at PJ including the colour night for grade nines, a colour captain event, and helped out at various school games as a timer and scorekeeper. She also volunteered at the Brantwood Farms haunted hayride and helped the students and teachers at Branbury Heights elementary school.
Samantha is a dedicated and hardworking student who maintains an 80% average and was on the honor roll in grades 9 and 10.
In the future she plans on continuing her education by attending university to become a pediatric surgeon or nurse, as she enjoys working with children. She also wants to remain involved in sports and hopes to be part of a rep or provincial team.
