Sarah Burleigh - April 22, 2004
This week's TCO "Athlete of the Week" is Sarah Burleigh, a 15-year-old Grade 10 student at Paris District High School.
Sarah is involved in a great variety of sports in and out of high school. Her activities include track and field, volleyball, soccer, basketball, and wrestling.
She is also playing basketball on the Briers midget girls rep team. During the summer months, Sarah has also played on the rep soccer team in Paris.
The latest sport at which Sarah has shown aptitude is wrestling. She has gold medal wins from meets in Guelph, Sarnia, Paris, Hagersville, and other area county and regional meets. She qualified for participation at CWOSSA and subsequently placed second.
As a result of Sarah's placing in CWOSSA, she participated in the OFFSA championships in Windsor. She is awaiting the winter games in London.
