Sarah Clark- July 26, 2007
Sarah Clark is a sixteen-year-old student from Pauline Johnson Collegiate who will be entering grade 11 this fall. She has been actively involved in many different sports including soccer, volleyball, basketball, hockey, badminton, baseball, floor hockey, wrestling and skating.
Sarah joined the Brant Figure Skating Club when she was 3 years old and competed in singles and with the synchronized team. She started playing hockey when she was eleven years old with the Brantford Girls Hockey Association and continues playing today.
Sarah has been an active member of several high school teams for the past two year. This year she was captain of both the junior girls basketball team and the junior girls volleyball team; she was a member of the junior badminton team, a member of the girls soccer team and a member of the girls hockey team.
Sarah is also a member of the U17 Elite Brantford Intercity Girls Soccer team and the U16 Brant Tornados Ontario Volleyball team.
Sarah has received numerous awards over the years including the Pauline Johnson 2006/07 Junior Female Athlete of the Year; the 2006/07 Junior Girls Volleyball Most Valuable Player; the 2006/07 Basketball Heart & Hustle award; the 2005/06 U15 Girls Volleyball Most Valuable Player award; the 2005 U15 Girls Soccer Most Dedicated Player award; the 2004/05 Joseph Brant Girls Athletic Award and a silver medal for wrestling in 2003.
In 2006 Sarah was part of the volleyball team that represented Brantford and Canada at the International Children’s Games in Thailand.
She is a dedicated and hardworking student who received the 2004/05 Academic Award at Joseph Brant and was on the honor role at Pauline Johnson in grades 9 and 10. She also enjoys volunteering and was the coach of an under 6 soccer team and helped time keep for Church Hockey.
Sarah plans to maintain a high average in high school so she can attend University and become a Physical Education teacher or perhaps another career involving sports, and continue to play competitive soccer and volleyball.
