Scott George- September 9, 2004
This week's TCO Athlete of the Week is Scott George.
A recent graduate of Woodman School, Scott began his secondary school studies this week at Pauline Johnson CVS.
An avid athlete, Scott spends his summers playing lacrosse, and his winters at the hockey rink. He has played lacrosse for eight years now, spending the past six seasons with the Brantford Posse Rep Lacrosse team. In 2003 his team made it to the finals of the Bantam Provincials. His hockey career includes a two-year stint with the Brantford Church select teams. Last year he was a member of the Brantford Minor Hockey Association's Bantam AA team.
In addition to his two main sports of hockey and lacrosse, Scott also enjoys baseball, basketball, fishing, golf, badminton, floor hockey, soccer, volleyball and track & field. He is looking forward to the opportunity to play field lacrosse, football and rugby at the high school level.
This past season Scott achieved his Ontario Lacrosse Association Level 1 Referee Certificate. He has refereed for the Brantford Minor Lacrosse Association, and has also acted as a referee and timekeeper for sports activities in the primary division at Woodman School.
This past spring Scott graduated from Grade Eight with a 79% average. During his time at school he was a member of the chess club and a safety patroller. Outside of school he has volunteered his time at St. Joseph's Life Care Centre.
Scott's long-term goals are to continue playing hockey and lacrosse, perhaps even professionally. He hopes to attend university, and perhaps one day become a teacher.
Congratulations Scott, and good luck! |
