Shannon Russell - October 25, 2007
Shannon Russell is a fifteen-year-old grade 10 student who attends St. Johns College and has been actively involved in competitive cheerleading for the past two years. She was also involved in figure skating for 9 years, house league soccer for 5 years and participated in curling and swimming.
Shannon is a member of the Cheersport Sharks – Tigers who trains 8 hours a week at the Tank in Cambridge, and will be competing in Sandusky Ohio, Buffalo New York, Atlantic City New Jersey, Los Angeles California and at other competitions throughout Ontario including Mississauga, Kitchener and London.
In 2007 she was on the team Thrashers and placed 2nd at Canada’s Wonderland, 3rd at Fly Girl in Mississauga and 9 th at Nationals.
Shannon is a Cheersports Shark coach in training, she volunteers at the Paris Figure Skating Club as an amateur coach for ages 3 to 11; she helps at the Paris Curling Club in the junior curling little rocks program, and volunteered at the inaugural Walter Gretzky Street Hockey tournament earlier this summer.
Shannon is a dedicated and hardworking student who maintains a 70+ average and in the future wants to become a French teacher and one day open her own Cheerleading Gym.
