Stacey Blunt - July 14, 2005
Stacey Blunt has been participating in hockey since she joined the Brantford Girls' Hockey Association (BGHA) eleven years ago. Stacey played on the Midget A girls hockey team this past year and helped her team win three tournaments. In 1998 she received the BGHA Sportsmanship award, in 2002/03 she received the BGHA Team Spirit award and in 2004 she won the Lady Venus Girls Hockey Tournament MVP award.
In 2003 Stacey began playing hockey with the Brantford Collegiate Institute (BCI) team, in 2005 she helped her team win the Lady Baroness Hockey Tournament held in Hamilton and was honoured to receive the 3-D School Hockey Award.
Stacey has also enjoyed playing soccer for the past thirteen years with the Brantford Recreational Soccer League, Brantford Youth Soccer Association and the BCI school team. She's been part of many playoff championships throughout the years. Stacey won the 3-D Cross Country award at BCI and participates in the intramural ultimate frizbee league.
During her four years at BCI, she was a member of the Ontario Students Against Drunk Driving Association, the school choir and the yearbook club. Stacey also loves to just hang out with friends or read a good book whenever the opportunity arises.
Stacey enjoys volunteering in her community; she assisted with power skating & practices with the BGHA, and was a trainer for one of the BGHA teams this past season. She's campaigned for the Kidney and Diabetes Associations over the past few years and is always the first to volunteer at the BGHA annual events, tournaments and banquets.
An excellent student, Stacey is going off to Ottawa's Carleton University this fall to undertake her first year of an undergraduate degree in business law. She plans on using this education to one day become a legal advisor in a corporation or business, and is determined to stay active and involved in whatever community she ends up in.
Congratulations Stacey, and good luck! |
