Stephanie Braund - March 10, 2005
Stephanie Braund is considered one of the top-5 elementary school athletes in Brant County who participates year-round in a variety of sports.
She has been involved in house league basketball for nine years and six years on a travel team. In 2004 she was named captain of the Briers Major Bantam girls basketball team.
Soccer is another sport that she enjoys and has been playing house league for nine years and rep soccer for three; in 2000 she received the MVP Select Soccer award. This summer Stephanie is thrilled to be travelling to Disney World to participate in an international soccer tournament.
She is also a cross-country runner and placed fourth in BCESSAA cross-country for her school. In addition to playing rep. basketball and soccer, she is also involved in rep. volleyball.
Stephanie is a 13-year-old student at Onondaga Brant who maintains a mid 80 per cent average and is looking forward to graduating grade eight in June. She volunteers as a referee for house league soccer and has been a participant in Onondaga's Community Builders Program for the past two years.
Stephanie plans to improve academically and continue her involvement in sports throughout high school and into university.
