Trevor Kruis - August 28, 2008
Trevor Kruis is an eighteen-year-old graduate of Assumption College who has been actively involved in basketball for 10 years, volleyball for 3 years, track and field for 3 years, cheerleading for 2 years and football for 1 year.
Trevor has received several individual and team awards over the years including the 2005 Ontario Basketball Association Division Two gold medal; the 2006/07 BCSSAA Basketball silver medal and the 2007/08 BCSSAA Basketball gold medal. His basketball team won a silver medal at CWOSSA in 2006/07; he was captain of the Assumption senior boys basketball team for two years in 2006/07 and 2007/08 and received the Most Valuable Player award for the 2005/06 season.
Trevor helped his high school cheerleading team win the 2006/07 BCSSAA Championships; he was a member of the school track and field team that won the BCSSAA Championships in 2006/07 and 2007/08, and he received the 2008 Bisons Alumni top male scholarship award.
He was an active member of the Assumption student council and tutored younger students in math, science and physics. He volunteered at the Brantford General Hospital and was host of the Assumption in-house television show.
Trevor graduated with a 96% average, the highest mark in his graduating class.
He will attend Queen’s University in September in pursuit of a career in medicine and hopes to play for the Queen’s Golden Gaels basketball team.
