Tyler Grantham - October 4, 2007
Tyler Grantham is a recent graduate of Assumption College who participated in several sports including basketball, volleyball, track and field and cross-country. He was a member of the CYO basketball rep team from 2003 to 2006; he was a member of the Norfolk basketball rep team for 2 years; and was involved in volleyball and track and field throughout elementary school and high school.
Over the years Tyler has received numerous awards including the 2003, 2004, and 2007 Basketball MVP, and was chosen for the 2007 Brant County Basketball All-Star team. He helped his basketball team win the CWOSSA Gold Medal and OFSSA Bronze Medal in 2005 and the CWOSSA Silver in 2007.
Tyler was the 2007 Volleyball MVP; the 2003 Cross-country MVP; the 2004 and 2005 Track and field MVP, and was a competitor at OFSSA in track. He was the 2003 Assumption College Junior Athlete of the Year, the 2007 Senior Athlete of the Year and received the 2007 Bisons Alumni Scholarship award.
Tyler was an assistant coach for the Oakland/Scotland basketball teams; he had a co-op placement in physical education at the Oakland/Scotland public school; he was involved in the DARE outreach for elementary schools; he helped with the Students Against Drunk Driving program; he volunteered at the John Noble Home and was a referee and score keeper at many basketball games and tournaments.
Tyler was on the honor roll at Assumption College for four years and graduated with an 88% average. He is currently attending Wilfrid Laurier University pursuing an Honors Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology. His future plans include becoming a physiotherapist or firefighter and play university basketball.
