Tyler Lisk- September 15, 2005
Tyler Lisk is an exceptional AAA baseball player whose skill, enthusiasm, and sportsmanship make him a leader both on and off the field.
This season, Tyler played on the Brantford Jr. Red Sox Tier 1 Major Peewee baseball team; he was a pitcher, catcher and played third base. He pitched 55 games and had 51 strikeouts, finishing the regular season with a batting average of .480 and an on-base average of .500. His team earned a first place finish in the Intercounty Tier 1 Peewee Division with 36 wins and 6 losses and finished in first place at the Ontario Baseball Association AA Provincial Championship on Labour Day weekend. Tyler was called up to the Intercounty Peewee All-Star team that will be playing in the Ontario Baseball Association's provincial all-star tournament this weekend.
At only 13 years old, Tyler was thrilled to be selected to play with the Hamilton District All-Stars in the annual CNE All-Star Tournament this summer where his team won the tournament and Tyler received an MVP award.
Tyler had an outstanding showing at a tournament in Welland, where he pitched seven innings in the championship game facing only 24 batters; he won the game and was named MVP. Tyler's hard work and dedication to baseball is demonstrated game after game as a key infielder when he's not on the mound.
After eight years of playing baseball, Tyler continues to work hard honing his skills and attends Winter Baseball School in the off-season. He has been an active volunteer at the Brantford Minor Baseball tournaments for the past three summers, and is always the first to get involved in anything to do with baseball.
Tyler also enjoys playing hockey and has been involved with the Brantford Minor Hockey league for the past four years. This past season, he enjoyed playing rep hockey on the Brantford 99'ers Peewee MD team and hopes to continue in the league this winter.
Tyler is a grade eight student at Notre Dame School who works hard at both school and sports, and is hoping to one-day play for the Brantford Junior Braves.
Congratulations Tyler, and good luck! |
