Tyler Padmore - January 4, 2007
Tyler Padmore is a seventeen-year-old grade 12 student from St. John’s College who excels in the sport of football. He has been playing football with the Brantford District Football Club (Bisons) for the past 8 years and has received numerous awards for his outstanding contributions.
In 1999 Tyler won the Tyke Offensive MVP award, in 2001 he received the Atom Defensive MVP award, in 2002 he was the Atom Offensive MVP, in 2003 and 2004 he was the Pee Wee Offensive MVP, and in 2005 & 2006 he won the Junior Varsity Offensive MVP award.
In 2006 Tyler played in the Junior Ontario Varsity Football League and was chosen the MVP Receiver of the League. He broke three league records during the 2006 season; the most 1 st downs in a game, the most 1st downs in a season and the most receptions in a season.
Tyler has been playing football for the St. John’s College team for the last two years and was the 2005 Offensive MVP Rookie and the 2006 Offensive MVP.
Tyler played baseball with the Branlyn Neighbourhood Association for seven years and has received numerous MVP awards over the years. In 2006 he played 2 nd base with the St. John’s College baseball team and had an excellent year.
Tyler has contributed over 150 hours of volunteering as an assistant football coach and helping at the Bisons concession booth.
He is a dedicated and hardworking student who excels academically. In grade 8 he received both the history and the family studies award, and has been on his school’s honor role in grades 9, 10 and 11. He also received an academic plaque in grades 9, 10 and 11 and received the St. John’s Student of the Month in grade 9.
Tyler plans to continue his education at University next year, taking kinesiology. He has received numerous letters and phone calls from a variety of schools throughout Canada and the United States for a football scholarship. His goal is to play varsity football and one day play pro football.
