Tyler Pennell - January 3, 2002
The Tournament Capital of Ontario "Athlete of the Week" is Tyler Pennell a 15 year-old, grade 10 student from Assumption College and a member of the Brantford Select Red Wings team. Tyler won the scoring championship for the past two seasons with the Brantford Youth Hockey Association, scoring 50 goals last season. He also played in both the Church hockey and Brantford Minor hockey systems for several years. Tyler enjoys playing high school basketball and helped his team win the midget championships last season. He is currently playing CYO basketball and helps coach at the 11 year-old level. Tyler still finds time to volunteer with the International Villages at Kanata Village and also helped with the Snowbirds kick-off for the United Way.
