Victoria Hall - November 29, 2007
Victoria Hall is a fifteen-year-old grade 10 student from Pauline Johnson Collegiate (PJC) who has been actively involved in badminton and volleyball for the past 5 years and also participated in softball.
Victoria is a member of the Brantford Junior Badminton Club; she competes under the Ontario Badminton Association, she is a member of her school’s badminton and volleyball teams and has received numerous individual and team awards.
In grade 8 (2005/06) she participated in several events including the BCESSAA Track and Field winning gold in the shot-put; she was in the Gay Webber Brant County Championships and won gold in the Girls Singles; she won gold in the Orland Harrison U14 Girls Doubles, gold in the Girls Singles, Mixed Doubles and the Triple Crown. She participated in the WOBA Jr. Championships U14 winning gold in Girls Doubles, Girls Singles, Mixed Doubles and the Triple Crown. She was also involved in the Ontario Jr. A Provincial Championships U14 winning bronze medals in the Mixed Doubles and the Girls Doubles.
In grade 9 (2006/07) she helped her team win gold in the Midget Volleyball BCSSAA and was the PJCVS Midget Volleyball MVP. She won gold medals in the BCSSAA Jr. Badminton Girls Singles, the Jr. CWOSSA Girls Singles and the PJCVS Jr. Badminton MVP. Victoria participated in the WOBA Jr. Championships U16 winning gold in Girls Doubles, and Girls Singles, she won silver in the Mixed Doubles and gold in the U19 Girls Doubles and Triple Crown. She won bronze at the Ontario Jr. A Championships in U16 Girls
Doubles and competed at the Canadian National Championships.
Victoria received several academic and athletic awards in grade 8 at while attending Woodman-Echo Place Elementary School including the Girls Athletic award, Academic Achievement award; Headmasters award; Principal’s award for Student Leadership; math and science awards, and was on her school’s honor role. She was also on the PJC honor roll in grade 9, achieving an 83% average.
She is a coach in training at the Brantford Junior Badminton Club and the Cambridge Junior Badminton Club, she volunteered at the Mohawk College United Way garage sale, and was a scorekeeper and umpire at the Orland Harrison badminton tournaments.
She will be competing in four Ontario High Performance tournaments across the province this year including three National Junior Elite events in Toronto, Halifax and Montreal, the Junior A Championships, and the Canadian National Championships in Manitoba.
Victoria plans to improve her badminton and volleyball skills and hopes to make it to OFFSSA for badminton. She also wants to continue to play and improve her ranking in the Ontario Badminton Circuit; build a National ranking, and obtain her National Coaching Certification (NCCP) Level 1.
